Driving Innovation, Sustainability & Impact

Since 2018, Silvex International has actively implemented successful out-grower schemes across 27 LGAs in Kano and Jigawa States, focusing on rice, groundnut, and sesame. Through strategic partnerships with local farmers, the company has cultivated over 2,500 hectares of rice (in both rainy and dry seasons), 750 hectares of groundnut, and 500 hectares of sesame. The Silvex out-grower model ensures consistent yields and boasts a recovery rate exceeding 90% each season, demonstrating the reliability, scalability, and sustainability of the program.

Since 2015, Silvex International Limited has been actively engaged in the direct cultivation of rice, sesame, groundnut, soybean, and maize, supplying both its processing facilities and the broader grain market. Production takes place on company-owned land as well as leased farms across strategic locations in North-Western and North-Central Nigeria. Every stage of cultivation adheres strictly to best agronomic practices and aligns with the quality specifications of our offtakers, ensuring high standards, traceability, and consistent yields.

Silvex International is a key player in the Nigeria Home Grown School Feeding (HGSG) program under the National Social Investment Projects, focusing on addressing three vital rights: food, education, and health. As one of the primary suppliers of rice, Silvex plays a crucial role in nourishing over 1.3 million primary school children in Kano State. Additionally, Silvex serves as a major rice aggregator for the Kano State Ministry of Education’s School Feeding Program, further contributing to the program’s success and sustainability.

Silvex International has recently entered into a strategic partnership, signing an MOU for the establishment of Nassarawa State Agro-Commodity Company Ltd (NASSACO). This collaboration, which involves a tripartite agreement between Silvex, the Nassarawa State Government, and Vertmance Group, positions Silvex as the majority shareholder with 65% control. NASSACO will focus on the production, aggregation, and processing of key agricultural commodities such as rice, soybean, sesame, groundnut, maize, and cassava, starting operations with 10,000 hectares of contiguous land in Nassarawa State.
